Protect From Harm

Yesterday, I received word that one of our friends' daughter had a traffic accident and was on life support. Today she died.

"Parents are not supposed to bury their children" is a saying I have heard since I was young. I actually think that it should say a parent never, ever wants to bury their child, no matter the age of the child.

That, my children, and any other child of someone out there reading this, is why parents are always saying be careful to you no matter how old you are.

A parents' job is to help you grow and let you go. But, of course, you are always our child. So, when you are out hunting, jogging, biking, driving, skiing, climbing mountains, and boating, there is a part of us that still wishes we could hold your hand and help watch for the perils surrounding you. Know, too, that we still breath a sigh of relief when we know you are home all safe and sound.

Live as responsibly as you can, for the sake of all who love you.
